Pancho Villa joined with Victoriano Hertas troops who was initially welcoming to Villa
because of his success. However, Villa did not show sufficient reverence to Huerta and Huerta began to look for any excuse he could to get rid of Villa. Eventually he accused
Pancho of stealing a horse and imprisoned
him.
Villa escaped prison and made it to the US where he sent a message to Madero to be aware of a plot to assassinate him. However, the warning came to late and he was murdered and Huerta became president.
Villa joined with Venustiano Carranza to take down the Huerta regime.
