CONTRIBUTING ARTISTS:
A minor but popular aspect of Adam Matlocks musical practice as An Historic
involves exploring new and original accordion arrangements of songs sourced
from the wider canon of popular music, especially from pop culture sources
such as movies, television shows and video games. Here in MIST1116 we
feature a suite of his recordings of tunes from mid-90s Square console
games, because while its always a fun trick to adapt and convert real-life
art to digital forms, its exponentially more delightful to reverse that
workflow and burden a human of finite capabilities with tasks designed to be
executed flawlessly by a square of silicon.

This poem attributed to Anonymous was found by one P.H. and extracted from a
hitherto unknown cycle of modern poems entitled An Introduction to the Use of
Video Test Equipment - Vol. 1, No. 1: A Primer in the Use of Waveform
Monitors, Part 1.
Anton Van Oosbrees credentials and qualifications for participating in an
undertaking such as the commission of this computer artpack are abundant but
would be pointless to elaborate upon at great length. All that you need to
know is that after we hemmed and hawed over including his note-perfect
arrangements of the DooM score, we settled on the use of his version of Daft
Punks Aerodynamic, performed on accordion. Any idiot can push the analogue
into a computer, but it takes a sublime idiot savant to drag the digital,
kicking and screaming, out of the computer and into the world of the analog.

Arielle Tenaya Olivier has never learned how to stop worrying, or love the
bomb. Fits well into most overhead storage compartments. Do what you love,
its existentially sound. We are pleased to showcase both her collages and
her poetry.

Brianne Baumber is a body piercer by trade, so all things considered, you got
off pretty light with her Snapchat anatomy textbook faceswap.
A scout from the textmode Yanomami at the 8bitMUSH at ansiart.com, cccfires
burgeoning ANSI works increasingly involve exploring fine typographical
details beyond the point of distorting abstraction.
Chris Godber appears to have overclocked his brain, with all of the pros and
cons entailed, empowering him to express himself in poetry, music, visual art
and even video games... but woe be to him should the heat sink behind his left
ear ever malfunction. This collection features several of his paintings as
well as a gateway to his multimedia Twine game, entitled Glitch.

cjb is slumming by allowing his poem Madly, which has a handy knack of
meeting the reader halfway regardless of their context, to appear in this
somewhat literarily-malnourished collection. In his spare time, he
reconstructs location-based photo shoots and operates the CSA Space gallery.

Claire Roberts is a multi-disciplinary thing-doer, using dance, fire, voice
for play in creative communities, and makes a living in the games industry
as a 3D artist. MIST1116 is pleased to present her inktober comic book, an
adaptation of Edd Macdonalds short story Adventurer Wanted, Hat Provided.

Ironically, despite being initially brought on board to round out our April
Fools collection, our Polish member Creonix has been earnestly and
relentlessly representing Mistigris with great sincerity at continental
demoparties all through the summer, winning prizes and counting a great many
polys along the way.
A poet of extremes who can mean love when he says death and death when he
says love, our beloved ragman Crowkeeper has voluntarily toiled beneath
minimalist constraints so severe that Twitters word limit is as nothing to
him. In 2015 Mistigris digitally reprinted his 1999 collection Scarecrow
Poetics, but he is even more active writing today.

Daniel Wickert is a multidisciplinary visual artist who works in a variety of
mediums including painting, collage, ceramics, sculpture, photography and
mixed media. For this series he has photographed sections of his previous
works created in a variety of mediums and proceeded to experiment with
mirroring the images in various ways to create new works of art. Through
digital mirroring, new forms and figures emerge to create exciting new visual
experiences. Wickert intends to utilize the results of this process by
bringing these digital images back into the physical world through printing
and by using them as templates for new painted works.
Fine artist Delphine Hennelly has long been finding the sublime in the
mundane, but her provocative new series of works exploring the disdained
practice of women -- traditionally the subjects of pastoral paintings --
cutting out the middleman and taking selfies on their smartphones raise big
questions.

Photographer Diane Smithers gets a lot of mileage from lurid Burning Man
subjects, but we were pleased to find that she also has a delightful touch for
the abstract.

In MIST1116 we are proud to present the versatile Dulcimer Johnson filking

hear in this collection.

In this life, you have two options: to become Stevie Nicks, or an alternative
too mundane to contemplate. Despite the popularity of the latter option,
Hailey has been bold enough to pursue the former.
A genuine professional teletext illustrator two decades hence, Steve
Horsenburger Horsley has recently returned to the game for love of the art:

the ensembles Casa del Sol and Perpetual Dream Theory. After all this time,

There are so many reasons he could have ended up in this artpack, the
question was just which wacky way jes would wind up in the incoming directory

pioneering text adventure ADVENTURE long thought lost forever!
On at least this one occasion, Juliana Moore presents a haiku without the

Jamie Stantonians active projects are presently Into the Maelstrom, a

Jonathan Ziga enjoys working with talented people with big visions
though sometimes that means breaking things and then figuring out how to put

Kazunari Kalcha Naito represents the tip of an iceberg we know little of and

Lauren Martin McCraw is part of the world of sketch comedy and long-form

Robert LordNikon Doerfler makes a guest appearance on his typewriter,
moonlighting from more regular engagements with artscene groups Dekadence,

steampunk factory-sized typewriter, interfaced with its operator like some
colossal pipe organ.

Maeve Wolf aka Tatharina - Historically dropping art on Mistigris when our

attention of its native platforms scene.

Nick Lakowski is a Vancouver based artist. He holds a BFA in studio art from
Emily Carr University 2004 and an MFA in studio art from the University of
British Columbia 2012. His work is grounded in a commitment to grassroots
community projects, including experience as a teacher, muralist, volunteer,
board member, curator, and events facilitator for a variety of local schools,
businesses, festivals, DIY art spaces, and artist-run galleries. His current
work with acrylics draws anxiously and humorously from the overly
deterministic discipline of neurobiology, the world of commercial painting and
paint manufacturing, various indexes and orders of colour, the redactive
procedure of painting itself, and a mystical hysteria towards resuscitation
and intensive care medicine.

We cant know precisely why Skavi Silas Guha Kavi drew us an ASCII art
logo in an artpack of The Prana Express sometime in 2003, around five years
after wed closed up the Mist Classic shop -- at that point, inactive longer
than wed ever been active. But there it was, impossible to ignore. Perhaps
he drew it for some other Mistigris?
Ed Starstew Stastny is that rare synthesis suggested in the two-word phrase
computer artist, practicing a species of net.art at SITO continually since
even prior to the establishment of Mistigris. Having mastered and
subsequently discarded so many styles and approaches, wearing the masks of a
half-dozen faux handles he could easily masquerade as an entire artgroup. Or
has he in fact been doing this... all along?

A 16-bit guy in a 64-bit world, VileR grew up when baud rates were lower and
signal/noise ratios higher. A bizarre pixelling accident in the mid-90s
left him trapped in an artistic timewarp bubble somewhere on the inert
fringes of the demo-/artscene. However, he was recently seen crawling out of
the woodwork and into projects such as the 8088 MPH demo, and may
occasionally be observed busying himself with nameless and unspeakable
oldskool-related machinations.

Whazzits history with Mistigris dates back to our 1994 inception, and though
our paths diverged before long, when talk of our 2014 revival came up he was
right there on the front lines with the impossible -- a seemingly endless font
of fresh ideas of new applications for a positively archaic artform.

Even especially? with innocuous subjects, the glitch aesthetic -- which xer0
demonstrates handily -- has no option but provide an unsettling, vaguely
sinister lens through which to view. When hes not cooking up twitchy

enthusiast, can be found making appearances with Blocktronics and Impure.
