And at the bell, its time for ROUND 2 DinG!
Yes, thats right, Hallucigenia is more than a one-pack wonder.. and to prove
it, heres our second release! Its heftier, has work from a wider variety of
members and always a pleasant sidedish for lobster.
...Introductions and Sad Tidings...
Evidently, theres nothing like a good pack to get people to join the group.
This months additions to the group are: Apix Kaw ansi / ascii / real world
art, Barcode hirez, Pisces3d hirez, Spire hirez, Strick9 ascii, and Xamhirez / music / real world art. Youll see work from some of the newcomers
this month and hopefully well have stuff from the rest of them soon.
On a sad note, it came to our attention after the release of the June pack that
Sassy--ansi artist and former group leader of Shock--had a ripped piece of ansi
in that pack. Hallucigenia does not tolerate ripping and we were forced to kick
her out of the group. One unfortunate consequence of that action was, because
she was my only link to the 410 contigent of the group--mostly members of
Shock which she had brought with her in the merger back in May--we lost a large
chunk of our lowrez department. If you were wondering why theres no ansi/ascii
in this months pack--that would be the reason.
So, if youre an ansi/ascii artist who would like a place to stand-out, be sure
to take a look at our application file.. and, of course, were always accepting
applications in other areas as well.
...CiLnet Merges with KitschNet...
Regretfully CiLnet did not take off quite as well as we would have hoped. It
had a lot of good founding ideas but it didnt have enough BBSs carrying it to
make it work. Happyfish, who hosts both CiLnet and KitschNet, decided to turn
KitschNet from the Mistigris message net to a more general art net, blending
it with some of the better qualities of CiLnet. For more information about
KitschNet, the latest infopack has been included with this release.
...Rest in Peace, DoDEL...
On a slightly more personal note, I took down my bulletin board--Dreams of Dark
Enchanted Lizards--on July 1st. After a very fine, two and a half year run, it
was time to lay it to rest.. another causality of the phenomenon that is rapidlycausing the extinction of so many BBSs.
For my former DoDEL users, many of whom are now members of Hallucigenia..
You know that place between
