Tales from the FLiP Side
Okay... I think Ill start off with welcoming a new member from the
local area... Dark Soul 313.... glad to have you aboard as a very
promising ascii artist. I apologize for not reviewing many apps this month,
I had a little bit of trouble with my email/computer... youll be hearing from
me soon G. Also, Id like to encourage the myriads who wish to join to
apply on Entropic Doom 810-347-2523 FLiP US/App HQ and contact Catastrophe
there, especially those applying as distro sites. Anyhow, the flip pack is...
...late once more. This is starting to become a habit, but then again,
FLiP doesnt do too many things like other groups out there. Sure we have dead-lines to turn in our submissions for the pack, but if any of our members wish toturn in anything a few days after, we try to accommodate them as best as we can.We understand that every member has certain responsibilities outside of contr-
buting to the art/music/code/lit scene. This can be full-time or part-time
employment, family obligations, education, or just an increased social inter-
action with the opposite sex. In other words, every FLiP member is not expectedto devote all or most of their time to contributing to the group.
That is not to say the group is second-class, but actually far from it.
Even though everything we do is done in our spare time, we all try hard to
give you the best of our efforts, whether it be a full page ansi, graphic logos,a music module, poems, intros, and many more. All of us here at FLiP are
artists, who are given the utmost creative freedom. Art is not produced becauseof a deadline, but from inspiration, divine or chemically-induced and I under-stand that it is necessary not to impose too many restrictions by keeping the
group as laid back as possible.
And that is what FLiP has been known to be: one of the most enjoyable
laid back art groups. We realize that none of us are getting paid for this if
any of the members are, please contact me, Id like to know your secret:, and
that all of this is just a nice hobby, but we do take it seriously enough to
produce what we consider the best of our ability. The thing is not really to
compare what we do with others work but to compare it to what we are able to
achive ourselves. As individuals, that is definitely a healthy attitude to
live by: Live not as a comparison of others but as yourself.
Perhaps Im getting off-topic one more time, but then again, we dont
do things like everybody else does
Dance to your own beat,
