ATOMBOMB IS REVEALED..
Ok... I dont know how many of the people currently involved in the scene
were around when this happened... but for those who were... here is the
answer to a question that deep in the back of your mind, youve always wanted
to know. For those of you not familiar with Atom Bombs brief reign at the
top of the ascii scene, let me fill you in.

This story takes place back in the days when Serial and Remorse were at the
peak of their competition. Tons of talented artists were drawing, and the
amount of quality artists and art in the scene was pretty high. Remorse
and Serial were neck and neck, and each group was seeking the one artist that
would send them over the top without question. In this quest, Remorse found
Atom Bomb. Actually, I should say that Atom Bomb found remorse.
Out of nowhere, this artist named Atom Bomb comes along. Suddenly, Remorse
began to build hype for him. There was an unknown artist that was to
release in Remorse 9 that was going to blow the socks off the scene according
to them. He drew amazing ascii pics in nothing but low ascii characters.
He pulled it off too... nobody before had been able to do this. His pics
were incredibly detailed and perfectly scaled. The higher ups in Remorse, and
much of the scene touted him the next MSD. He released a few asciis in
Remorses 9th pack, and was instantly praised heavily. Then, in Remorse
10, he released upwards of 10 asciis. All of these asciis were mind blowing
100+ line pics. This guy was going to dominate the scene for a long time
to come... or was he?
One fateful day, the incredible illusion of Atom Bomb was brought to a
crashing halt. A ascii regular had uncovered the truth. I forget who
this person was. What i do know is that this person didnt draw ascii, but
ansi, and has a deeper role in the story that anyone has ever imagined.
This ansi person revealed that every single one of Atom Bombs asciis was
merely an ANSI from old acid packs that had been run through an ANSI-ASCII
converter. Suddenly, the very character that had brought remorse great art
and glory, brought them shame and astonishment. He was kicked from the
group, and banned from the channel ascii. He was dismissed as some stupid
newbie ripper, and forgotten about... until now.
Keep in mind, this is not just something i decided to fuck around and write
about one day. This is a true story. Now would be a good time to introduce
the main character in this charade. To build suspense, we will call him Bob
for now. I heard this story straight from bobs mouth, and he had evidence
to prove it. This was the plan.
Bob, the good old ascii regular who drew ansi had come up with a plan. Create
this Atom Bomb character, get him into remorse, make him become one of
the best artists in the scene, and then purposely expose him, making remorse
and the scene in general look stupid. Good plan.. almost homo-esque, but
not quite. I will give you guys props for this though, because now Atom Bomb
is permanently engraved into the history of the scene. In fact, i invited him
to join Serial, So even I was fooled. Anyways, the Ansi Man had set up an
account for Bob to use to get on IRC and send his work to necromancer, the
founder of Remorse. Bob came on one day, acted new, sent his work to a few
key people being Bob, he knew where to send his work to get the word around
and got invited to Remorse. The plan went perfectly. He released a bunch of
asciis, and when they decided to expose him, they did, perfectly innocently.
To this day, they have most people convinced that atom bomb was just a
lame ass kid trying to make it in the scene with someone elses work. Everyone
was fooled, until now.
So, to recap, there were two people involved, Ansi Man and Bob. They did it
just to fuck with remorse, and to stir up the scene. After it was all said
and done with, Bob said that it was to try and bring down Remorse. At the time,
Remorse was very unstable. It did everything it was supposed to, except
kill Remorse.
So, I guess by now, youre wondering who this mastermind behind Atom Bomb was.
Before I tell you, let me say this.
He was a SENIOR STAFF member of remorse while this whole thing went on.
He remained a member of remorse, even after this whole fiasco was over.
