As a young man I stood alone and listened to the wind The voice I heard surprised me but soothed at the same time Listen to me it said I will teach you to live and love I will show you true happiness and give you all that this world has taken from you Follow the directions I leave imprinted on your heart Listen carefully to the wind for it is through this that I will speak to you Now go as I direct I listened carefully and allowed my heart to be imprinted by the God that had chosen me I sold my belongings I left my home I travelled away from the concrete and asphalt that had become the path which I had walked I went to the forest with some clothes for my back and discovered that all had come true Food grew all around me The air nourished my body like nothing ever had I ran through the trees with the wild animals who shared my new home with me All was right Nothing could harm me in my kingdom My God had taken care of me Months later the changing came The trees began to change in colour and lose thier foliage The air which had given me life now bit bitter cold at my flesh Where are you my God! I screamed What have you left me to The answer never came I looked to my heart and the words inscribed had blurred I was lost in a foriegn land that I once called home No more answers could be found here I had exhausted the reserves of my heart Again I listened to the wind Again I heard a voice much different from the first Come follow me it said I will teach you to build I will show you how to stay warm in the winter cold and keep food from rotting in your pockets You will not have to hunt anymore for I will take away your hunger I listened carefully and bowed my head Words were then inscribed there just under the skin If I closed my eyes I could see them Once again I followed my God I came to the city and began to work I allowed men who were called wise to mold my thoughts All this in the name of my God I had become a robot living only to serve What of Love I asked my God What of all those things held dear in the forest Speak to me of friendship Tell me of my human masters Do they love as I have There was no answer and again I was lost Again my God had left me Again I was at the mercy of unforgiving elements Again I listened very carefully and closed my eyes I was atop my mountain in my forest surrounded by concrete trees hearing the howl of a thousand wolves An Angel was descending I could see and hear nothing but this Angel though no light or sound was present She descended upon me with an outstreched hand reaching towards my chest With slow careful motion she pulled from me a half sphere A glowing work that was not quite finished With her other hand She pulled a half sphere from herself These two she touched together to form the whole And so I was transformed She was gone Yet I was still changed I could see the energy of life surrounding what I once saw as a dead city All to whom I spoke radiated love which I took pleasure in returning The wild animal had been brought back untamed and made whole by the unnamed To you fair Angel I give thanks I really had no idea what was going to happen when I sat down at the puter this time whew -Hippy
