well might as well start my story I guess it all started back in April of 1991 man 5 years ago wow Anyways a neighbor of mine invited me over after school one day It was this afternoon I was introduced to the great wide world of digital communcations and computers beyond my C128 A 2400 baud modem Procomm Plus and a 386 25 cutting edge back then now that sits up on a desk unused Anyhow my friend who adopted the alias Quenbolgi Lana showed me a board that he was on which soon became my first board also The 12 -Remix run by HuMaN Anyways enough nostalgia It was from here that I branched out downloaded the WWIV bbs software (the only type I knew of) and set up my own The Tower of Curiosity 2400 baud nobody knew me I was a fool But I was enjoying it I soon realized that I needed to make some sort of picture like the Remix had After talking to the sysop I got TheDraw and tried my hand at my first ansis Man did they suck I mean take the worst person you can think of and imagine something sucking even harder than their work That was my first work After lots and lots of practice I came to the wonderful realization that I couldn t draw worth shit but I could do lettering okay So I focused some on that still took awhile Meanwhile T o C as it had grown to be known became a mecca of sorts for my hodge-podge collection of online friends small friendly and active I don t think in my 5 years as a SysOp I never had more than 100 users at any given point in time So time past my board fluctuated in popularity I drifted in and out of making art for my own board and life was merry I got a serious girlfriend got laid for the first time and later that summer I was approached by an art friend of mine Dark Sword to join SLiVER for their LiT division I was esctatic So began my involvement in the art scene Unfortunately SLiVER seemed for all of us in it a summer deal Fall came and with fall came school work and Art was shoved aside My days of being a Art group member died off and I went off to persue other avenues (namely collecting old hacking and phreaking mags) So went life until about a year ago ChipSet and I were dicking around with artwork individually and I came up with the brilliant idea we now call UNiT I told him Hey why not form like a loose group sort of a name for individuals to use like a confederacy or something like that and he was open to the idea So I went off like my over-zealous self and proceeded throughout the school day to pump out names for our new-found group I decided on UNiQUE So when I went home I immediately started working on a ansi for UNiQUE However I ran out of space had to struggle to cram the E in and after showing it to ChipSet I found out that I left out the second U so I had a crappy looking ansi saying UNiQE So I went back and being hardheaded I wanted to see what I could salvage out of that ansi UNiT was my only option And here we have the origin of the name Tada What a fucking story eh Since then we ve had a few people drop in and out of UNiT but it did not matter since we weren t a group in the true sense at the time Pandora is the only one who stayed permanently and through her we acquired her brother GraveDancer (head of our askee dept) and so forms our group as it stands Small 4 people but closely knit Anyways I m sure you are sick of hearing my sap and shit so I ll shut up But thanks for listening to where I come from Peace out mental graffitti
