how to make a phat phont by kerplunk of the spastic ansi institute ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- okay first i start by drawing the first letter of the font in a basic form we ll make a font for a board called let s say dog then i take the same style of font and do the rest of the letters in the same style sometimes if two letters are similar all you have to do is copy a letter and flip it or whatever and then make the necessary changes i did this with the g now i add the base color to the font then i add the basic shading highlights to it i among a number of artists just put alternating patterns of f1 s and f2 s along the edges of each letter i do this with the brighter color with a background of the darker color in this case it is bright cyan (11) on dark cyan (3) now i go in and add little characters in random places in the font to add a little detail you can do this in whatever color but keep the background color the same artists like lord jazz and chromatik do this alot now the basic font is finished this is the point where i look at the font and go in and add a few last minute touchups now we get to the somewhat tricky part although the font is basically finished and looks nice it s not to the full extent of 0-3 day ereetness ) what can we possibly do to make it look better you ask welp for starters we can make a border for it this is where the dark grey comes in basically all you have to do is trace around the font now we go in and make a few touchups to the border by adding a couple f5 f6 s and maybe a couple more f3 s this next part is totally optional in fact i would wait for this part until you get better at it but it does add a little kick to the font i go in and add some little shapes things to look at and add little highlights to the border now i like to go in and take maestro s idea with the ascii line deal this looks best with light grey (7) for the line and the base color for the f1 s ------------------- ---------------------- --------------------- --------------------- this is when the font is done you now go in and add the bbs name and your initials if you did an abreviation of the name make sure the bbs name is typed out completely put your initials in an unconspicuous spot in an unconspicuous color ------------------- ---------------------- --------------------- --------------------- kr x dig our gonads! x there now you have a complete truely awesome font that will get any sysop s dick hard when you hand it to them ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- this has been a tutorial by kerplunk!spastic
