The actual logo itself is not significant the importance of this is that it is perhaps my last logo ever Examining the font below we can see that it is really nothing special -- a blend of different styles someone may say I prefer to look at it as my own style If you have ever seen any of my real life work you would know that my style is sketchy and somewhat disorganized This is not a goodbye letter let me clarify -- I will not dissappear from the scene I suppose I will not be as active as I have in the past As I write this I begin to doubt whether this will indeed be my last logo however as of now it is Let me explain a little about myself I entered the so-called art scene around December of 1993 My friend Neon Samurai had set up a conference with his friend Musicphreak and the info was spread I was on it it was supposed to be just a general conference ACiD Members started calling in and I was confused I had no idea what ACiD was or what a pack was and I really had no clue what was going on This was my first of many conferences That cold night Musicphreak and Neon Samurai were recruited into ACiD being as ACiD needed some teleconferencing guys Over the next few days Neon Samurai explained to me all about ACiD and packs and all the like He sent me some ACiD packs This was the peak of my activity I started calling boards like crazy I got on Nuke em High Kamikazee of TRiBE s board I was user #5 of a total of 11 A good friend in the local scene Nitro knew alot about the art scene and the local scene he really helped me greatly to enter into the diverse world of art I began setting up Renegade on my hard drive hoping one day to run an art warez board This never happened The board was called Realm of Chaos Well now I think there are several Realm of Chaos boards out there Go figure I picked a bad name for a board Experimenting with Renegade and actually reading the manual helped me because I soon helped many sysops and became co-sysops on several boards including Demon s File Dungeon The Underworld and The Chaotic Asylum (Which later changed names to The Ravaged Nightmare ) Demon s File Dungeon was a warez board There was some competition between the other co-sysops and myself but it was all settled Demon Master could be a little pushy Nitro and I often got angered by his constant requests for modifications Boards come and go I think the most fun I ever had was with The Underworld The twin-brother sysops SmOoZ and iNDiGESTiON were extremely friendly and cool I remember all the days of the board starting out and The Chairman s momentous call to the board (Oh my god THE chairman the sysop of TUN for god sakes!) Over the Easter break Smooz Indigestion and I played Doom over the modem almost every night The board lasted the Summer all the way up into the first few months of the school year The Summer We were thinking of converting The Chaotic Asylum into an art warez board because as of now it had only warez I asked Neon how to get all the ACiD packs and iCE packs because at the moment he was Mr Art Scene This is when he taught me to use 800 reroutes and cards I called THE boards The first board I called was The House of Pain in 413 run by Mazter It s long gone It was a decent board but I was amazed at all the art it had I then called Terra Firma Got nuked Called Harvest Moon Free Beer got accepted Called Channel Zero My friends and I were hanging out and I got a call On the other end was Beastie (THE Beastie!) He wanted a PoW Site PoW was a local programming group Progammers of War led by Flounder I called Terra Firma back explained how I was on all the other boards Somms validated me Back then these reroutes and cards lasted a few weeks each These boards seemed so Elite The sysops never chatted with me and they ignored my E-Mail Nevertheless I leeched a great deal of art Boards come and go The only board left of all the ones I called back then is Harvest Moon The Ravaged Nightmare Ravaged Soul and Demon Master switched to OBV 2 because 2 25 came out with many bugs fixed I read the manual figured it out All my art acquisitions were uploaded to TRN and I slowly backed away from DFD Demon and I became good friends we talked pretty much every night I finally met him my friend and I played him and his friend and beat them at basketball 22-20 DFD is now in North Carolina Sinister D Mitri D Milo and I became good friends and started work on an Elite offline mail reader IRC The school year started Demon Master provided me with internet accounts from a local college - SUNY Stonybrook I entered onto IRC Being mistaken for Lord Jazz at every corner was really annoying but slowly I became less and less of a newbie Back then the scene and the people in it were a lot different Kamikazee and his brother put their board back up this time it was called Illusion of Tranquility -- it had been up before before Nuke em High The Cartel started on the rise Omega Redd got so many affils and ansis same with Marshmellow Hex (Ellis Dee) and his board The Crossroads Somewhere around here Corrosive Poison finally ended it s long journey of neglect and misery I got in CIA in december Thanks to The Wizard I was so bad but they did not have the balls to tell me and they released my stuff anyway This made me happy I promised Tron that I would never leave CIA and I have stayed true to this promise Somms This is the point where I start my rise to the top Somms needed help on coding Continuum himself in Pascal He did not program very well Dark Warrior actually got Somms to call me When Somms did call it was 11pm and I was just about to step into the shower It was the same shock as when Beastie had called me Things did not work out with Somms coding and he had me code it I happily complied I coded two issues #4 and #5 He made D Mitri and I a Sinister logo T2 bailed him out with an intro logo for us We released Sinister on IRC December 28 1994 It was an instant success People started to know who I was I met some cool people on IRC namely Somms Eerie Penguin and Dryad The local scene was starting to bloom after the death of The Cartel and The Crossroads I made the acquaintance of Caine one of the coolest people I know in the scene In April I was accepted to ACiD as a coder D Mitri and I also had an altercation that led to the source code of Sinister 1 0 being relseased I started to recode Sinister from scratch My early ACiD days were awesome The conferences were as legendary as I had heard and some of the people ego aside were nice I met Sinned Soul who was like an enemy and a friend at the same time The school year ended the progress on Sinister slowed The scene slowed many people dissappeared Summer 95 Sinned Soul used to call me many times and he would 3-way other people These days were pretty cool ACiD started to bore me because I was at the top with nowhere to go but down Until recently I had been making cards and using them heavily I called many people many people called me It was fun These days have ended as of two weeks ago (the week of Halloween) Now with the inability to speak to the people I like most (Prince of Death Stone Chapel Penguin and even Sinned Soul) the scene has become dull Legend is good but it is on the decline ACiD and iCE have gone downhill ever since January 1994 tetanus jz This is my last logo I m pretty sure it is Tron I ve stayed with CIA this whole time I m not leaving either Napalm I admire you so much because you didn t give up even when there WAS no CIA I have the utmost respect for you and I m sorry to say that I m probably not going to draw any more of my logos I ll stay in CIA if you want in fact I d appreciate it if a few months down the line when I haven t produced that you leave me on the member list as a testament to the old CIA the days gone by the logos once drawn This is not a goodbye but I think it s time that I focus more on things to come in my real life such as college Most of the people whom I respect won t even see this logo and most of the people in the scene don t even know who I am or won t be looking at the CIA pack -- they don t know what they re missing CIA represents to me an institution of dedication hard work perseverence and loyalty Although many of the better artists have succumbed to the lure of bigger and better groups I still respect them To the people whom I ve befriended in the scene -- I don t have to mention names you know who you are Some of you I haven t heard from in a while and I probably won t I hope you haven t forgotten me but it IS a big world out there Those of you who never see this who go through life without thinking twice of the person who admired and respected you maybe one day as you re older when you re looking back on the old old scene days you ll remember me This one goes out to Nitro (The Max ) the one who got me started Maybe you were right when you sold your modem and forgot about the scene but I also think you missed the opportunity to meet some of the cool people I have I owe it all to you What I mean by that I have no clue because I don t know whether the scene has been beneficial or harmful to my life ) Examining our memories we can find that unfortunately we almost never appreciate them as they happen -
