Poem title Wishing on Pebbles Skipped Written by Errant Angel (Andrew Lichey) Date June 10th 1995 b l a d e I The morning rain had fallen alone And suddenly I was with a girl and we sang our song like a thousand crickets For a second I lost control of time and i fell into the low winds but she pulled me back from the edge to safety This wasn t the first time and though she s little more than a hope she has never admitted it and will forever shelter me from the dawn II We ran together around the grass Swirling and spinning through the pasture I learned how to dance with a deer Don t forget your errands she said with a smile and i laughed them off to another day We only had so much time together so we walked down to the beach to sail pebbles across the ocean To shine our dreams to the heights of God III With the moon turning itself to night a mother called out into the dark Children come home the day is done With a gentle rise we stood and ran back across the fields till at last we reached our home and our jobs and errands forgotten The day was past and we worked into the night No longer laughing but with a sad song IV For each day that I saw her that day came to an end and I m not sure if I wore a happy heart With her no doubt I lived in my dreams And found an inner peace But in the end I think that made it harder To return home with the setting sun Was it better a day of joy and night of tears than a life in which I never smiled V I don t see my angel princess as often as memory recalled my past It is the winter when the sun rides short And the moon holds sway on my heart My hope still holds for some future dawn When I can grasp her to my chest And she can save me once again She ll always be there Even if for truth she isn t Because she loves me and knows no better
