The rats The rats were everywhere They whispered to him He heard them They were calling to him Calling Look at us they called we starve Feed us They called out to him Calling chanting His chains rattled as he shifted to hear them better What the Hell ! The sound of a key turning in a lock merged with the creak of an oaken portal bearing it s bulky assets - a man I m talkin to you boy! What was that noise ! He looked up spitting the bile which had been building up in his stale mouth over the last week at the jailkeep s festering feet The rats Rat s don t be makin sounds like chains boy! What were ya doin Tryin to escape ! Eh ! If I was trying to escape I d be sure not to MAKE a sound Hmmm you re smooth boy Guess that s why they call you Smooth Well you ain t escapein THIS cell any time soon Rot s more boy With that the hulk lumbered back towards the steel bound door and before closing it behind his filthy face laughed at Smooth I WILL escape from this place He vowed The rats never criticized him They just begged Begged for food For freedom All the things he wanted In a way they were torturous They tormented him Reminding him of what he yearned for most If not for them he could sleep Sleep and forget all this Sleep his life away hoping for death But the rats reminded him He stared at one of them A large one It seemed look back at him with interest With intellegence He was infatuated with this rat This rat of rats He squinted trying to imagine what it would be like to see the world as a rodent It s Hell at times Wuh Who said that Smooth mumbled I did You were wondering Well it s Hell Sometimes it s alright but it s filthy Scurrying around in this cesspool scavenging for grains of nonexistant food It s tough You you read my mind Most people would say You re a rat and you can talk interesting But yes I can pick up your thoughts You ve done nothing to veil them Oh Well why are you talking to me Because Smooth We want freedom We want out Out of this place We re prisoners as you are Yes I notice you don t leave this cell much Much We DON T Were too big and the jailkeep would surley kill us I I don t know what to do I don t even remember why I m here Everything is so confusing I don t Help us We will help you but you must help us Feed us Feed us I Feed us He awoke suddenly drenched in his own persperation He sniffed the air It smelled of rat Not like it normally did It was different It wasn t the rats themselves that he smelled It was the atmosphere Adrenalized But he didn t understand it And then he fell He had been chained to that wall for over ten years Ten years in this hole In this den of death He had seen two people rot here and was waiting for his own death but he always seemed to drag on Barely alive And he had fallen Fallen from the wall to which he had been chained Fixed to a wall for over ten years And now he was free He rubbed his wrists His crimson stained wrists Stained with his blood drawn from him by the chains in which he now kicked across the cold grimy floor The noise You causin trouble A GAIN boy ! Yer gonna learn HARD this time! The Door opened cleansing the darkness in which the chamber dwelled with dim torchlight Where are ya ! the guard growled alarmed to see that Smooth was no longer at one with the wall He heard rattling chains behind him He turned sluggisly and turned right into the face of Smooth He then fell Smooth stood over the huge man s body A smirk crossed his parched lips He dropped the freshly bloodied chains at his feet thanking them And then they came The rats Out of the darkness they scurried Out of holes and crevices They moved as one body and then enveloped the jailkeep They pounced as one and as they did he became animated coming to and realizing that he was about to be eaten alive But his struggling did nothing His fruitless attempts in freeing himself only let to further fatigue And so all he could do was lay there watching as Smooth stood over him laughing hysterically chanting to the rats Cheering them on And then ove the jailkeep was consumed they turned to him Thank you We have eaten we are free we thank you But one rat seemed to stand out He couldn t figure it out but there was intelligence in his gaze Smooth just nodded and then he opened the door The door to freedom And he and the rats ran They ran and they escaped and Smooth looked back Back upon TRiBE Lit Not just colored text!!!
