Hallucigenias
HAL-o-ween Explosion
October 1998
The idea for a special pack this month seemed to gel in my mind as soon
as I finished typing the word Halloween... a HAL-o-ween pack for
HAL-lucigenia? The pun alone was too perfect to pass up. It would seem that
the rest of the group agreed as we present to you, by far, our most
creative and ambitious pack to date.
the HAL-o-ween Pumpkin Carving meet
As you wander through the pack youll notice a header, HALMEET, which
refers to Hallucigenias pumpkin carving gathering. Much of the Vancouver
chapter of Hallucigenia came to my house on a gloomy Saturday, October 24th
and carved pumpkins. In attendance were myself, Ice, Happyfish, Cyradis,
Silent Knight, Thext of Glue and Hacker Joe of Mistigris. The results
of our efforts are included under the HALMEET heading. A couple of the
pictures have little insets with orange borders--these show the back of the
pumpkin when that has also be carved. A good time was had by all and we hope
to have more such events in the future.

Our latest member, Uneide of hirez and real world art, decided to join our
ranks with avengence this month giving us a substantial volume of artwork.
She told its because she loves Halloween and were glad to have her. Also
joining our real world art department as a guest this month is Silver Wolf,
not to be confused with our lit writer, Spirit Wolf, whom Silent Knight knows from Vancouver Film School.
new look for the website
We completed the transfer of the website to its new home on Silent Knights
server and he subsequently decided to give the website an entirely new look.
The funny looking blue people are gone and in their place is a much slicker
looking site. The address is still hallucigenia.home.ml.org and be sure to
return often as we have big plans for sprucing up our new home. Stay tuned.
back from the dead
Appropriately, it should be this month that the BBS, Dreams of Dark
Enchanted Lizards, rises from its deathbed. Its resurrection has a purpose
though as Happyfish, our KitschNet host, is going to be leaving for Katimavik
in November--a nine month, cross-Canada, volunteer experience. DoDEL is going
to be replacing her board, The Jade Monkey, as KitschNet host as well as a
local host of CCiNet and TABnet.
