aloha! hola! hello! hoy! hi! yo! sonicboommmmm!
crisis is back baby! put the egos aside and let the blocks collide!
argh, ok new paragraph!
draw ansi for your mom, milfs, and even for people holding signs on the
the street.. ok that was bad, but hey its a joke.
the above paragraphs are indented incorrectly, due to my tab key malfunctioning.
welcome to the crisis mad circus/unison pack number 008 or whatevers clever.
crisis or unison, whatever you would like to know us by, are just a bunch of
goofballs who simply love textmode art and bulletin boards for many reasons.
these are just names to draw under and to draw for. yet at the same time, it
has been a crazy and fun-filled 3 months of ego-filled chaoticness..
anyways..
greets to everyone still drawing in 2005 and beyond.
id like to thank avenging angel, grymmjack, and skypager! for all the tips.
no egos, just legos, and other art.
have fun drawing.
lates,
kf its all about the flux capacitor :
hi folks. grymmy talking. i was just going to say that i had a lot of good
old fashioned fun with the friends and family of crisis this month. drawing
was alot of fun and it really seemed to flow well when we did joints and so
forth. the other thing i wanted to say is that although the work represents
effort and skill here, it really represents family and friendship. you have
to realize that this all started from the ambition of one person and his
infectious attitude to get back on the bull as it were. i think that above
and beyond what others may percieve this gathering of art to be, it is most
important to understand that this really is a katet. we are one from many,
yet we are many as one. i have to give mad props to jeff and his driving
shining forces of positive attitudes and jackphlash for mastering ansi in
what seemed to be overnight you go girl. other greets are standards to the
brethren of the group and those who enjoy ansi -- drawing it or otherwise.
lastly i want to say that although this is the 8th pack, i think that the
serialization and linear manner in which packets of artwork are categorized
and released is long dead. why not call this something different, instead
of pack 8, call it the jankstank or something? what difference does it make
since no one even really cares what number crisis is at or if we will ever
make it to 9. this is part of the problem as i see it with the old way. the
world has moved on since then, and we should move on with it. so perhaps a
retro-fit is in order to get back to the true idea of what it is to be in a
gathering of like-minded people doing something we love for no other reason
than we love to do it and its a fun time sharing our ideas and so forth.
isnt it about time we gave up the corporate mechanized way, which is so
completely contrary to what it is we do -- the emulation of reality and gangs
or big business? were a bunch of artists, drawing for the sake of drawing.
we arent making a living off of this, so why make it so serious? lets all
just have fun and keep drawing. fuck deadlines. fuck egos. its about the
art, and the friendships. the rest of the dogma associated with traditional
artgroup/affils/whatever, well, there is no room for it. so thanks for taking
the 2 or 3 minutes to download this zip file of friendship and rainbows. we
hope you like what you see in here, but if you dont we really dont care. we
will still draw and still have fun. hopefully you can appreciate that. love
to you and your kin, grymmy.
this pack is a bit of an oddity for me. you see, ive been away from the
scene for a few years now. while i never totally lost interest i just felt
that the scene was dead and being deeply involved in it was a massive waste
of my time. i kept my board up and that was about it. i decided id return
to the scene recently mostly because my marathon gaming sessions werent
feeling as productive as my old marathon coding or drawing sessions. upon my
return i discovered a lot of inspiring changes. one of those changes that i
did not anticipate was kidfrosts constant pestering to start drawing again
and join his new old art group.
i found myself picking up ascii again quite easily. inspired by pabloadraw
and then later tundradraws multiuser session capabilities i also took a
stab at ansi. ive never been a good ansi artist, though ive often tried on
many, many occasions and often with the tutelage of some great artists. i
chiefly have grymmjack to thank for some insight, advice, and inspiration
that made my latest attempts a lot better than any of my older ones. ive
obviously got a long way to go but hopefully if crisis can avoid all of the
typical group drama hmm... and stay in the game you guys can all watch me
attempt to improve my game.
anyway, i dont have much to say specifically regarding the crisis, the art
scene, or even the bbs scene as a whole at the moment other than shoutouts to
those who are still involved in the scene, some even more than others, no
need for names, you guys know who you are, and also a big thanks to all the
people in the scene who arent around anymore but helped carry us to this
point.
