Well its a new year, 1995, and with the new year came
many ideas,
mainly for a change in the way the ansi scene is run, and how it wo
rks.
I wanted to try something new, and make a break from the idea of on
ly a
major group, ie. acid, ice, and union, could have talented artists
. I
believe that anyone who is willing to put time and detication into t
heir
artwork, deserves to have thier work spread, and seen, regardless of
the
group name. There are many artists out there that feel the competi
tion
of the art scene has been taken out of hand, and the fun of produc
ing,
and releasing art through a group has disapeared becuase of it.
Well
instead of only thinking this to myself, ive decided to take it a
step
further, risking ridicule for the rest of the year g, ive dec
ided
to start up a new group of artists, with a new idea. I plan on ma
king
a group, with a few changes, and twists, to bring back the fun,
and
laid back atmosphere of joining a group in the first place. Group n
ame:
after talking it over with a few other people, we have come to
like
the name bleach, something im sure most of you are not suprise
d at
if you know me at all g. Weve also decided to give the packs
the
title of, aneurysms...why? i dont....know.
Secondly, the group will have no distrobution sites, i feel they
are relativly pointless, since any board that recieves a ble
ach
pack, could carry our art, the tag bleach dist site holds
no
purpose to the group in any way. They only add more headaches, and c
uase
competition between sysops to be a distrobution site for our group
, so
that theyre boards can gain better reputations in the scene. Howe
ver,
we will be accpeting one-two boards in each ac, that is a l
ocal
connection for our artists to drop their work off, so that we
can
keep things a little more organized. The only way to become one of t
hese
gathering sites, is to be a user on my board, so that every m
onth
you can take the art that has been left on your board, and sen
d it
over to me. This makes things alot easier, and cuts out phone tag e
very
month with the people who would like to release in the pack.
Third, and most importantly to the change this group will
take on, there will be no founders, or members. I know
this
sounds unreasonable, but here is how it will work: I am basically
the
closest to postion of founder this group will get, without hol
ding
any of the oppurtunities a normal founder would have. The group
will
be ran equally between the members and opinions and ideas by the art
ists
will be taken into mind to make the group better. My job will b
e to
round up all the art recieved every month, zip it up, and
send
it out. Since there will be no real members in the group, the posi
tion
of founder is useless, and only creates power in the group. There
will
be no members, if you have a peice of art that you would lik
e to
release, but you dont want to release it with your current group
, or
have no group at all, you simply add the name bleach to the ansi,
send
it to me, and i put it in the pack. Thats it! You never have to
say,
Im joining, or Im quitting, its a free choice, no questions as
ked.
Every month the pack will contain an information file, which will
list
every artist that contributed to that pack. The standards for relea
sing
with us will be very small. You will most likely get your art rele
ased
in the pack if you send it to me, everytime! If you would lik
e to
only release one ansi with us the whole time your in the scene, t
hats
your choice, there will be no pressure on you to release every mo
nth.
There is one small catch though to these rules, you can only rel
ease
art with bleach if you are an artist in any of the following acs:
619
,714, and 909. The only way to submit to bleach outside of t
hese
limits is to be voted in by both ld! and dweizel. Thats about
it,
if you have ANY questions about this at all i can be reached at ei
ther
of the boards listed at the end of this nfo file. This is a relet
ivly
new concept as far as i know so im not sure how this idea will work
out,
we can see how it goes after the first release. One last note, an
yone
who releases at least one ansi with us, can feel free to add bleach
to
thier sig!
Fourth, the packs will be released on the third of each month,
promptly, so in order to make the deadline, you have to submit by
the
first of every month, the packs will not be held back.
Thats basically about it, all the details should be listed, but if
you have ANY questions at all, please call my board. Below are the
two
gathering sites we have affiliated so far, both are here in 619,
San
Diego, but i will be looking for users on my board to hold some posi
tions
in other acs, so that the group becomes wide spread. Any help
with
making this a successful group will be greatly appriciated. An in
tro-
duction type pack will be released on February 1st, but the premier
pack
will be released on March 1st. We will take art donations starting
any-
time before then.
